SiSi Butte Fire Lookout

Administrative agency:  Mt. Hood NF

Staffing status:  contract

Elevation:  5616 ft

Structure: 1996 50 ft wooden tower with 8 sided octagon cab

Access:  a gate is present around three miles from the tower, it will likely be closed, the tower is visible before the gate, no signs are present

Road conditions:  the road up to the gate is graveled, the road from the gate to the tower is mostly dirt, and somewhat steep 

Interior:  the cab contains several electric, and one or two propane lights, a propane refrigerator, stove, and heater, a bed, table, counter with sink, and shelves are also present, this is a very nice cab, with nice windows

Other structures on summit:  a radio building and a pole with antennas mounted on it are present, it is powered by a generator, two large propane tanks are present for the radio generator, two propane tanks for the lookout are portable

Electrical power source:  several small solar panels are present to charge a 12 volt battery to power several incandescent lights, the radio, and cell phone, the system is portable

Other:  this is a very nice tower, it is new and built to last, the view is great as well
