Signal Tree Fire Lookout
Administrative agency: CFPA
Staffing status: paid position
Elevation: 3294 ft
Structure: 1961 53 ft wooden
tower with cab
Access: Signal Tree road is signed, a spur road comes off of the main road around four miles from the highway, the road turns to gravel, but it is less than two miles to the tower, no gates are present
Road conditions: the gravel portion
of the road is in pretty good condition
Interior: ???
Other structures on summit: the summit is
crowded with many radio towers, buildings, propane tanks, backup generators,
and a RAWS, this is probably the most crowded summit I have been to, click
here to see the weather conditions on
Signal Tree
Electrical power source: grid power
Other: the view from the tower is nice, it was once staffed by the DFPA, but was switched to the CFPA, the DFPA's Dutchman Butte looks over some of the CFPA's protection land, so the agencies work together
