Mt Pisgah Fire Lookout

Staffing status:  paid position

Elevation:  6816 ft

Structure:  1964 20 ft wooden tower with R-6 cab

Access:  no gates are present, you can drive right up to the tower, it is approx 10 miles from the pavement if you come in from the west which is recommended, a sign is present from the east, but not from the west

Road conditions:  the road starts out in good condition, it gets rather bumpy around two miles from the tower, and is not the best for passenger cars

Interior:  the cab contains a propane heater, stove and refrigerator, lighting is done via a florescent light, a bed, table, counter, and shelves are also present, the cab is in good condition, with very nice windows 

Other structures on summit:  around three solar powered radio repeaters, an old garage, as well as a storage shed, the propane tank is portable

Electrical power source:  three solar panels charge two deep cycle batteries, which power the radios, phone, lighting, as well as Zeyn’s personal devices

Other:  some of the old phone equipment is still on the summit, Zeyn O’leary has been staffing this tower for many years now, he has a nice view and a nice tower, he is a nice guy and ready for visitors
